Captain's Log 2024

I did everything I set out to do for v1.2, I'm still handing out cds to friends and family as fast as I can crank them out, and the reception has been everything I hoped for and more. I can't understate just how much love and support my friends and family give me, I really am the luckiest guy in the world.

I can't just be the luckiest guy in the world and not give that love back, that's the whole point of this project in the first place. This started as me wanting to give my comfort zone to other people and turn it into a sort of story or series to spread happiness, but I soon realized that this was something even more important. Like planting the seed of a tree, knowing you might not ever enjoy it's shade, we might not ever get to see the "earth in a box" that I envision, but the technology is already here, and maybe someday, someone else will realize that vision.
I just want to plant the idea now, so that maybe the preservation of the earth, it's history, the stories of the people that lived there, their creations, and everything in between, can be archived, analyzed, etc., so that the people of the future can speak with the people of the past using AI, or perhaps review the memories of their loved ones that have passed, or look through their own past, LITERALLY walking down memory lane.
These efforts are already being made by people around the world, I am just one more proponent speaking out, that we are all just one people of planet Earth in a cosmos of infinite possibilities. I won't be the one to build the "earth-in-a-box", nor will I be around to enjoy it or be remembered for promoting the idea. I'm just planting seeds that will hopefully grow into the realized idea, but I'm quite content with my insignificant role in all of this, because the real treasures were the friends we made along the way amirite fellas
anyways, I don't see any reason to leave a captains log until v1.3, so wall of text. I seriously love you guys though thank you so much for everything. I'll keep cranking out those cds, feel free to hit me up for anything at all.

Hey baby are you today's date? because you're a 10/10 ;)
I'm just kidding, but hopefully you think this story is a 10/10, or it at least warms your heart. Countless friends of mine are all going through bad times, I'm in the process of mourning the loss of a few friends myself, and I'm remembering that part of the reason for writing this story was to give something back to the world that gave so much to me, and hopefully keep the people that are close to my heart around longer.

Anyways, it's all finished now, big shoutout to Marvin Dominguez from Earth City Records for remastering the narration audio. V1.2.2.1 (cd version) is now available for download, and I've even handed out a few copies already, as well as v1.2.2.2 (cd version but with the pdf and a few other images on youtube) is uploaded. I'm keeping the video unlisted because for the most part, I want v1.3 to be everyone's first experience with the story, but the links are all out there.
Only thing now is to make the announcement video, which I'll do tomorrow. Everything is already available, I'm excited to let everyone know, and to start bugging my friends for artwork :3 (stop offering to work for free, I'mma pay you, let me throw money at you as a sign of love)
I'm gonna burn some cds and print some pdfs for my bandmates and coworkers, super excited to start handing these out. Thanks again for all of your continued support, I fucking love you guys.

I've completed the website... I think. More importantly, Marvin (from Jointheinternet) says he'll remaster the narration I did for the Infinity Machine v1.2.2, and I look forward to the results. Either way, I released the initial 21 page short story (v1.1.2) quite some time ago, and I've been working for months recording and editing the audio version (currently 1.2.2), so even if Marvin doesn't deliver, I'm fine with releasing it as is.
Kvltonovitch also brought up what I already feared might be problem, and I thank him for his validation when everyone else was saying that it sounds fine.... the buzz of background noise, and also my S and T sounds were way too strong... I know the work I put in brought that to bearable levels, but I hope Marvin can fix it more with some automated program or something fancy like that, we'll see after the weekend if he delivers.
I'm going to take the finished product, and set it to images of the pdf version to upload to youtube. At the same time, I'm going to chop it up into mp3 tracks for a cd to release and hand out to people along with a paper copy of the story. I want all of this done a week before Halloween so I can have time to print and promote everything.

Not only is Halloween important for promotion, but getting artists to start working for the v1.3 release. Anything that isn't drawn by a hired artist, I'm going to have to draw, and I'm not good at drawing lol. Anyways, I'm pumped for the release of v1.2.2 and the publication of this website at the same time. I'm gonna make business cards and all that fancy stuff.
